For a new shower build, your contractor will only need a little polyurethane adhesive. For a retrofit install (in an existing shower) you'll additionally need a drill with a 3/32″ bit, a grout removal tool and silicone caulking.
Yes, the Redblock shower corner shelf is designed to fit into 1/8″ grout lines, which is the standard size for most shower tile installations.

Important questions to ask yourself: Will it get in my way while showering (is it too large)? Do I want to risk damaging the edge of my bathtub (corner pole caddy in bath/shower). Will my corner shelf be within easy reach? Should I install a "permanent" in-grout shower metal corner shelf instead of a temporary corner pole caddy or a suction cups corner caddy?
Stainless steel is a strong metal alloy that will never deteriorate if treated with care. In contrast, plastic shelves will degrade over time, becoming brittle, and eventually breaking. This is a process called cross-linking. It happens to all plastics, but some faster than others.
To avoid damaging tiles and puncturing your waterproofing membrane, you should avoid all screw mounted corner shelves. I would also suggest that you avoid installing a corner pole shower caddy or any adhesive corner shower shelves. Corner pole caddy's can damage the tub surface (if it's a tub/ shower), the ceiling, and the shower floor (if a prefab foam shower pan was installed) and adhesive corner shelves will eventually detach from the shower wall. As a very easy DIY home improvement project, I always recommend installing in grout stainless steel corner shelves because they're permanent, easy to install, hold a lot of weight, don't restrict your shower space, and will not damage your tiles.
Yes, you can install almost any corner shower caddy into an existing tiled shower but they usually take up a fair amount of shower space, and often get in your way when showering. An alternative is an in-grout stainless steel corner shelf like the Redblock shower corner shelf or the Schluter corner shower shelf. These brands are the most durable corner shower shelves, they install easily into the grout line on your shower wall, and don't get in your way while showering.
It's important to know that rust can develop on almost any metal corner shower storage shelf (including 304 Grade stainless steel shelves) if they're regularly exposed to bleach based cleaners in the shower. The same is true for your metal fixtures and trims. The only possible exception are shelves made with 316 Grade stainless steel. The best way to keep your shelves clean is with a mild detergent like diluted liquid dish soap.
